I liked working the weekend shift because on Sat in the summer the boat ramp is packed but on Wed it's empty.

Very true. Same with the boat ramp/public hunting lands during duck season.

They hold us to 40 hrs. and when we take a vacation (PTO) we don't get our 3rd shift diff. It seems to be a growing trend to not count vacation toward O.T.

The last union I was in stood up in front of the membership and recommended that we vote YES to a contract that was basically the same with some things taken away from us. And the union president always sided with the company when somebody had a grievance.

Uniroyal in Stoughton, WI was still using vacuum tube technology when I worked there, (quit there 3years ago). You can only get those on eBay. They also sold things that they no longer needed on eBay

    Been there! Done that! 20+years:thumbsup:

so I was thinking about the windshield thing today.
is there any difference between a factory one and a non-factory?

Slightly. Not much. The specs on a factory are more precise then non factory and sometimes a non factory is made with a different kind of raw glass(cheaper)

And on our Mercedes parts, the inner piece of glass on the windshield is thinner on aftermarket then on factory. Along with cheaper vinyl in between.

I was on a stretch of 3's and 2's for a bit. Not sure what to do with 4 off... Catch up on "chores" I guess. But I should do tundra brake conversion and rear drum rebuild...;)
