Hey guys, tomorrow I'm going to jump under the truck and grease all the zerk fittings I can find.

I have a tube of Liquid wrench grease in the garage right now, but I hear that using NLGI #2 rated grease is something I should use instead. Would it be worth it to go out and get some or just use the stuff that I have?

I would use what the owners manual states, which I think is what you stated (NLGI 2). It also states to use molybdenum for the slip yolk, but there is no zerk for it. It needs taken apart if you want to grease it.

Cool. I think the guys at prompto missed a few zerks on something when I got my oiled changed last. I got a chance to look at one of them there is grease all over the outside, and somewhere in my suspension it sounds like an old mattress. So I'm gonna try to grease the, 5? zerks that are under there.

drill the end of the slip yoke tap and put a 45 or 90 degree zerk in there. Then you can grease it without taking it apart.

Yep 5 zerks. You'll need a flexable hose for the grease gun coupler. The hardest one to get to is the aft zerk on the front shaft (you'll need to remove a small skid plate to access it.) Be aware that the grease gun coupler is adjustable... loosen it up and once secure on the zerk tighten it by hand... loosen it back up and remove. Add the grease slowly. The seals are plastic with 2 very small pin holes for the grease to escape and can break from too much pressure (don't ask me how i know this.)
