    I can't seem to get air flow from the centre vents. If this has been posted before please direct me to it.

    So it looks like I may need a new solinoid.
    How common is this problem?

    Probably what you need is not a Solenoid, but the Mode Control Servo Motor Assembly. See the drawing below for the location.
