After lurking around this and other forums while I was searching for a replacement truck for my rusted out 96 Dodge Dakota, I finally feel I can join. I purchased a used 2005 Tacoma, Access Cab, 4x4, V6 6-speed manual (yeah, I'm one of "those" guys.)

Thanks to this forum I was able to make a pretty educated choice in replacement vehicles. I knew there will be problems to fix, but with the solutions presented here, I should end up with a pretty reliable truck and still have the fun of driving a stick. I chose the Tacoma over the Nissan because it seemed like it is the truck on which it is easier to work.

Calumet MI is in Michigan' s Upper Peninsula, and we're pretty much in the middle of Lake Superior and still be on land. Annual snowfall is around 250" so 4x4 is pretty much mandatory. In winter I officiate youth hockey games, snowshoe and do a lot of snowblowing. I own a small printing business and the truck is my delivery vehicle.
