crappy 22 year old dakota... waiting for tacoma
Hi guys I'm 17 and completely new to the tacoma world I have a 1994 Dakota but Ive finally saved up enough to get a tacoma and can wait to add all sorts of things to it that I've found on here! I'll post photos as soon as i find the tacoma I want. Its gonna be a charcoal 2008 access cab for future notice. i plan to add a raptor style grill spelling out tacoma instead of your normal toyota and add a 2 inch lift and throw on 32" tires.

Welcome. Read up on as much as you can. When you start to modify your future Tacoma, keep your eyes open for group buys and private sales on things you want, it's a good way to save $ for other things.

When I was 18, I went from a Dakota to a Tacoma as well, best move I ever made (the Dakota I had was a total POS, but that's another story...). I had the Tacoma for a couple years before selling it for a commuter car while attending school. 10 years later, I finally got back into another (first gen) Tacoma after dreaming about it all those years in between. They really do leave a mark. Welcome!

The transmission is going out and the last owner used a shitty mechanic who didn't know what he was doing and messed up the brakes, didn't wire the circuits properly so the whole circuit system is messed up and a few other problems. The truck just has more problems then it's worth.

Sounds like my dad's 94 Dakota. Transmission on it's way out. Misshifting all over the place, or just not shifting at all. Tacoma will be a great step up. Anyways, welcome to TW from VA!
