I have been having issues with starting for the better part of 6 months now. Around 6 months ago my truck started occasionally not starting. I would turn the key and sometimes just hear a hum/buzz sound and would have to wait 15-20 mins before trying again and usually it would start fine.

Finally it threw a code for the camshaft position sensor, I got it checked and took it into the mechanic. They said they checked both, one was bad they replaced it. Then the truck started fine for a couple weeks then the same starting issue happened. No CEL and it started fine for a few months with the very occasional me having to hold the key in the ignition position for a little longer than normal 10-15 seconds. Now it is back to having the starting issue where it just hums/buzzes and finally the CEL came on yesterday. Got the code read and it popped P0345 - Camshaft position sensor A circuit - bank 2.

The report from Autozone said to replace the sensor and had a suggested part as well for a distributor. I know the camshaft position sensor is just a magnet and a bolt but I was unable to find any diagram/video online of the location of the two sensors to replace it last time so I just bit the bullet and had the mechanic do it.

So I have a some questions:
    1. Is it likely that the second sensor could have gone bad in the past 6 months?
    2. Is it likely the sensor the mechanic used was a faulty part?
    3. Is there anyone that has links to the repair manual or can tell me where the sensors are located?
    4. A distributor seems like a much more serious problem, how much does this cost to repair?

    Thanks for the help!

    The 4.0 doesn’t have a distributor....
Low engine oil can cause these sensors to die. Really common in Nissan products.
If you use a cheap vatozone sensor you will achieve shitty results.

I change my oil every 5K miles and use Mobile 1 Full Synthetic oil. I know it's probably a little overkill but she's spoiled.
