I'm a new member and wanted to say hi. I'v waited for a long time to my Tacoma. I had a 1997 Tacoma Extended cab back in 2001 and was hooked. So here I am with my new Tacoma and looking forward to future mods. The one thing I wish I had was the TRD hood (with the scoop). I got the Prerunner model and got a flat hood. Any info on relacement hoods would be greatly appreciated. My Tacoma is a 2009 in Speedway Blue Metalic.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Unfortunatly, I have no Goat in my family. It has been my dream car since 16. Almost got one at 17, but the opportuity slid by. I do have a goat tat on my leg. As for the sport hood, I have asked a bunch of Tacoma Sport owners to swap with mine plus some cash. No takers yet. I also am looking at adding the temp/compass to my overhead console. Found the best price for a new unit at 1stAutoParts.com , 877-810-7067 , for $207.44 & free shipping. Well will save my pennies for it. I did like the thread about the bed lights. As an electrician, I am going to try it, but put a switch in the cab and the bed so I can turn them on from either place. I also have an idea about a swing arm to allow them to extend out of the pocket when needed. I will post what I end up doing.

 

Great dream car, maybe some day. I lived down the street from a Pontiac dealer growing up. Watched all the changes from the early 60's through the late 70's.

 

Bought my bed lights. Currently fabing swing arms for lights. Hoping to have time next weekend to do complete job. Still pissed that I did not fight the dealer (Clearwater Toyota) for the TRD hood or package, what a dumbass I am. Well I'll keep seeking/asking Speedway Blue Tacoma owners with TRD hoods to swap for my regular hood & cash. Sooner or later I will find someone who doesn't care if they have a scoop or not. Any ideas for the hood or compass/thermometer situation. I am all ears.
