I just bought some ebay headlights with bhlm after ruining mine doing it myself. It came with some HIDs and I put them in. They are a very uneven light sort of casting shadows. It is the cheap HID or the ebay headlights causing that. or a combination. suggestions please.

If retrofitting, the housing won't matter because the projector handles all of the light..... No need for OEM housings. I've done a few with OEM and without. Makes no difference with proper sealing technique and quality projectors.

From my experience with the aftermarket HLs, it's the HLs themselves, not the HID bulbs. Put stock bulbs back in and you can verify. I never ran HIDs, but with a stock bulb the aftermarket HLs light distribution was sub-par with hot spots and dim areas in the pattern compared to OEM HLs.
