How much/where did you get it? Looks great! I need to do something similar in my laundry room.

Lots of options, some expensive some pretty reasonable. My total order from them was about $650, which was a full sheet (30"x145"x0.5"), adhesive, dispensing gun and extra nozzles, and shipping. LTL freight accounted for $200 of that.

Best way to shave a door to clear carpet? Run the bottom across the table saw or just hit it with the orbital?

Look at all that extra space behind the shower head! Bigger shower in the finished plan?

Just enough to clear carpet. I think original was a berber and now it's a more common carpet. Just one hall closet door that drags across the carpet. I'd guess maybe a quarter inch at most, but thinking about it I'd guess just running it across the table saw would be fine. Should I wrap the end in painters tape to prevent splintering?

Unless you need to take off just a skosh, I'd use either a circular saw with a finish blade or a belt sander. Yes, tape bottom all the way around to prevent splintering.

Oh and the floor this side of the shower is an additional 18" of a hall closet that was torn out. This is the master bath so needed it bigger. It's going to be about a 9' x 5' bathroom now. Decent size.

Did you save original doors/jambs or are starting new?

Saved it all. One door was really bad, so we actually went to an architectural salvage place on Saturday and grabbed a replacement door. Very minimal shaving, some period locksets and she’ll be good to go.

My master bathroom is so small we just use the hall bathroom lmao. Seems like the original layout sacrificed the Master for the hall since they are in line with each other. Honestly could tear out the tiny extra closet in the master bedroom since theres a larger one, and shift the bath tub a good 3 ft to the right and then be able to extend the master bath in 3 ft and make it larger. A lot of work though. Something we will consider on down the road.

I understand you have a long list of work to do/more pressing demands on your time, but It'd be appreciated if you could post photos any time you have the time. I have piles of respect for folks willing to take on this magnitude of project (okay, a little sympathy and a dash of pity as well).

Architectural salvage yards are some of the coolest places on the planet. I've got a quarter of a storage unit full of stuff I've bought but have no idea how/where to utilize. Yet.

Is that a load bearing interior partition ? If so how are they planning on dealing with that ?

    +1

Or do what my cheap ass does and clamp a straight rip of OSB to the door and use a circular saw.
