Ignition Cylinder Issue

    For the past two weeks I have noticed that randomly my car does not want to crank, but today fiddling with the key in the ignition and then the cylinder I noticed that it might be an issue with position before I go ahead and take things apart does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?
    I have recorded myself pushing the cylinder in with the key and it not cranking versus pulling and it cranks.
    I have just ordered a new starter and now that I found this out I believe I might be able to rule out the starter I just need someone to guide me in the right direction with this. Do I need a new cylinder? Do I have a badcontact?
    Is this common in the first Gens?

    Seems like a bad connection in the ignition, but I’m not sure how hard that would be to replace.
