I am going to look at a used topper Monday 2/19/24. While removing my tonneau cover, I noticed that there is not much of a lip for the topper to clamp on to. Are there special brackets made for this? What is the preferred method? It's a Century topper if that's any help. A search yielded no results.

Thank you, I have another question. Is long bed length (76") on a 2014 the same as a 2001?

There is a very good chance a 2014 will not work with a cap from a 2001. It's not just the length, but the width, cab height and overall shape. It might, might not. I don't know for sure and it may not hurt to look. You shouldn't have any problems with any other 2nd gen cap working.

My 2007 uses a special type of clamp, standard ones do not work.

The cap for the 01 will not fit properly on the 2014.

No. A shell for a 2001 is going to be too short, and (depending on how the rear window is designed) it may not be able to shut.

A 2001 and 2014 are completely different body & bed styles, so no, it will not fit.
