I’ve tried to find an answer for this, spent about 45 minutes this morning looking but can’t find anything on it.

when using my iPhone for navigation there needs to be a longer delay between the connection between the iPhone ant Tacoma and when the commands are given.
For instance “turn left in 500 feet”. Comes out as “500 feet” and I have no idea what’s going to happen in 500 feet.

anyone know how to fix? Last time I used the system it worked and no I don’t know what could have changed- probably an iPhone update

It happens to me sometimes but it’s an occasional occurrence, it went away by itself. There are many things can relate to the situation, many of them are not within my ability to resolve, and since is not permanent, I just bear with it.

How are you using your Phone navigation app to connect to the truck? Since your profile shows your truck is a 2016 I'm guessing bluetooth unless you have upgraded to a radio with apple carplay and android auto. Are you streaming music on bluetooth at the same time? I'm wondering if that's the issue with the 2 audio signals from different apps, the voice prompt for nav might not be overriding the music properly.
I've never seen this with my 2020 using Android auto but in an older vehicle with only bluetooth it happened sometimes.

Did you try rebooting your phone?

I had this same issue a few years ago and there was something simple I needed to do, now I can’t remember and of course I can’t remember what I search for to find it.

yes, I is Bluetooth, no apple play. I’ll try rebooting my phone but that doesn’t seem to be what I did before, but who knows what I remember now.

    thanks

    any other ideas?

Can you plug in instead of connecting via Bluetooth? I have better results when my iPhone is wired.

Every time I use Apple Maps for some reason it keep taking me to the back of the building or somewhere not even close. And the lag is pretty bad to the point where my exit is in front of me but the map won’t move sometimes.

I solved the same problem using google maps and my iPhone. In the navigation settings use "play voice over bluetooth" and not "play as bluetooth phone call". Then select bluetooth as the source for your radio. The navigation directions should work but your radio won't play. Something changed with an iOS update.
