Yup- that's how I handled things when I used to work as an advisor/asst manager. We took care of people if we messed up things. I'd think that is NOT acceptable, regardless of the mileage on the odometer, but even worse when you're not even plated yet.
I'd involve the manager and the GM. Let them know you've not even responded to the JD Power survey from sales which affects their entire dealership. That should light a fire to make it right. I've seen salespeople eff up a bumper trying to plate the vehicle for delivery- you don't just tell the customer "they're gonna get scratches anyhow".

    nothing cool
the wheel scratches wouldn't bother me too much. But that's just me. You have a brand new truck and they're your wheels. You have every right to be pissed off. But, the wheel weights?! That's such terrible service. Just terrible. I'd honestly complain about that big time.

    Really?

What happened with BakFlip that made you so jilted that you include your dissatisfaction in your TW profile?

I assume it's not a first world problem, as you say.

    Wat?

You say BakFlip sucks in your profile.

Did they refuse to fix scratches or something?

I have 60k maintainance on my truck. Took it in for the 5k. Told them not to rotate the tires. Figured they'd scratch the chit out of the wheels.
Took it in for 10k. And figured what the heck. The wheels are only the steelies. So effit. Let them rotate.
To my surprise. The wheels were not scratched a bit.

TRUTH!!! That scratch would piss me off! I bought a radius cage for my rhino back in the day from Rigid Industries. I believe it was the last one they made before diving head first into the lighting world. Had it powder coated red. Drove all the way to the shop in mesa to pick it up and when I looked it over I found a very small pea sized spot where the powdercoat rubbed off during transport. Told the guy I wasn't paying full price and he very gladly took the entire cost of powder coating off the final invoice. Good on them for stepping up cause had they not I would have refused to buy it.

Those guys owe you a new wheel in my opinion.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
RearViewMirror, you couldn't be more correct on the dealership's bullshit that they tell the customers.

I also think the same way when it comes to working/fixing something on my truck. I don't really trust dealerships, quick oil/lube stations, etc. majority of the times they either do a half-ass job, don't do it correctly or just don't do it at all.

I don't trust those fuckers at all!

Also if or when it comes to replacing tires, etc. I always ask for specifics when putting the nut lugs back using a torque wrench and if weights need to be added I want to know before hand.

My steelies have been rotated every 5k so at 135k that's 27 times. While never scratched, i have lost a couple center caps over the years because it was not put back on properly. My steelies are starting to look really crappy after 8 years. They're getting pretty rusty. I need to start thinking about replacement options next spring.
