Issue with Sprint Booster???

I think I may be experiencing the issue with the addition of the throttle response mod, specifically with the Sprint Power Booster.

Here's the scenario;

This morning on the freeway I set cruise at 70 (regular cruise, not adaptive), three lane highway, I was in the right lane. Merged over to center lane due to lane closure with orange barrels. Once beside the orange barrels, the dash lite up like a Christmas tree and the truck somewhat died, like limp mode or something. The only way to get the truck back up to speed was to barely push the throttle, like I had an egg between my foot and the accelerator pedal, I mean ever so lightly.






Got to my destination shut the truck off. Started the truck back up about 20-30 minutes later and now have the CEL and 'Traction Control Off' light now on. The other warnings are gone. The Sprint Power Booster is responding as designed, throttle response back. Once I hit 32mph+, the Traction control light goes away but comes back on once I hit said speed and lower.

I originally was going to go with the Peddle Commander but read a lot of CEL issues with it, so I went with the Sprint since I've had one on my T4R for over 100k. However, the T4R doesn't have LDA or the PCS.

What do you guys think? Am I going to have to ditch this mod? I don't want to have to turn everything off every time I get in the truck so it works but IDK. I changed the sensitivity settings on the LDA and PCS.

Get rid of the sheisty throttle booster and get a tune

 

I don't think the booster has anything to do with it. There is something else going on. To find out, simply turn off the Sprint Throttle Booster, and then see if you are getting the same warning lights, etc. If you are still not convinced, temporarily unplug the Sprint from behind the "gas pedal", and plug the original plug back in, as though there isn't a Sprint on there. Again, if you are getting the same error or warning messages, it to me, at least, indicates that something else is wrong. Another thing you can do is to turn off your Key Fob, or put it inside of one of those bags that keep the signal from communicating with the truck ,and then, disconnect the battery of the truck for about a half hour or so. Then, go out there, connect the battery and then start the truck. Again, if you then see no warning lights, then resetting the computer by disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery, worked. I have a Sprint Throttle Booster myself on my 2019, and have had it now for several years with no problems. Analyzing what it does, I am about 99% sure it has nothing to do with this error.

I'll try both, disconnect battery and Sprint. The Booster has been in for around 10 days with no issues, at least that Im aware of.

The only other thing I've done that is even close to messing with the electric of the truck, is install Morimoto headlights which I had to install the add a fuse harness in the fuse box under the hood and disconnect the radar when pulling the grill, but that was two weeks ago and Ive been driving it everyday since. I seriously doubt that would have anything to do with it.

I've only put 1k on this truck since I bought it. I start to wonder if there was a preexisting condition.

 

Remove the sprint booster and see if it goes away , if not bring it to the dealer . It’s probably not the device . A sensor could have went bad . There too much stuff on vehicles now to go wrong

 

Today when I left the house, all lights were off and all seems normal. Booster still plugged in.

I mimicked the conditions were the original event took place (constant cruise set to 70, merge in to center lane, orange barrel to my right, traffic to the left) and nothing happened. I didn't necessarily think it would buuuut, just for the heck of it.

So now I either 1)wait for it to happen again and take it to the stealership or 2) make the appointment with the stealership now.

Very frustrating knowing that the issue is lurking.

One other thing you can do, if you have one or someone who does have one, is to connect an OBDII reader to the port under the dash, and see what codes, if any, pop up. Nowadays they have memories in them so any codes that have been thrown, will show up so you know what, if anything, happened with the situation you describe. I would only take it to the dealer as a last resort, unless it is under warranty...
