Hey all,
Im new to the site and I hope this works. I am really tired of my F250 and want a tacoma. Im looking for a slightly modified I.E lifted/rims, tires, bumpers, you get the idea. Nothing to outragous as it will be a daily. Would like to have less than 100k on it too. I am willing to travel. Im located in San Diego. Please either post a pic of what you have with specs or PM me.

any leads are appreciated too. Thanks in advance.

I do have a budget, but I like to keep that number to myself. I will say that Im very realistic.

 

That one is very nice, but way over modded for my needs. Plus im looking for a LB.

ok all,
so i found a 2009 DCLB, Sport, 4x4, leather, bluetooth, TRD 16'' rims, well maintained w/ 160k on it. owner is asking 20k. It has an unknown 3'' lift on it with stock shocks that the dealer just replaced for a recall. Does this seem like a good deal? My first go around in the Taco arena. I know the first order would be to throw some 5100's on it.

I think that is a bit high as well - especially the unknown lift part...that could be anything. Compared to this --> THIS 2010 4x4 w/ mods a few miles from my house at a dealer, it is high (Not to say that this is a steal either - just to offer a comparison for perspective).

 

Damn, I was thinking 19k was fair. I just cant get the pricing nailed down. I looked at an 2011 with lift and shell, 88k and it was 20k. Owner decided not to sell. I do appreciate the responses. I am being specific too. That is a huge part of my issue.

I agree - specific on the used market can be tough especially if you have a limited timetable (need to buy because you don't have another vehicle). However, if you are willing to be patient and drive the F250 a bit longer while searching for what fits the bill - I think it'll pay off. Build an Autotrader or Cars.com search with what you want - you can set it to send daily updates of vehicles that meet your criteria. Just a thought. And for what its worth - I think California has more Tacomas than anywhere else in the US - so you are in a good spot.

 

i have my alerts set up on CL, cars.com and autotrader. I dont get that many hits at all. I do avoid dealers tho as I just dont trust them. So I limit myself even more. Prime example. the truck for 20k with unknown lift, doesnt even have a lift after the owner sent me pics. The dealer told him it was lifted. he is feeling like a dumbass now. lets see if he lowers the price.....doubt it tho.

 

Well, I did it. I finally found and purchased a taco. so Stoked!
