I can’t figure out why my door speakers are sounding like there are screws on top of them rattling away. I replaced two speakers first was a 4 ohm speaker and then 3 ohm jbls but they still sound blown with lower frequencies? Have any ideas ?

I am convinced that the stock head is crap and changing speakers alone will not make a difference. I changed out tweeters and ended up putting the old ones back in because they were too loud of only marginal sound quality compared to the other speakers. Changing all speakers without the head seemed like a bad idea.
OTA radio through it sounds horrible. Pandora/spotify through my heavily EQ'd phone is acceptable but not great.

After seven years, I finally had the interior removed for sound deadening and not only is the road noise significantly lower, but my JBL sounds terrific. Used DynaMat on both inside surfaces of doors and panels as well. The audio shop that did it only suggested a small aftermarket amp to make it louder. I don't need it any louder.

It is strange. I have jbl home speakers and there great. I just think the head unit needs more balls or something. Wish there was an easy fix like a better plug in amp or something.

Headunit and its processor. I had a complete JBL speaker system + old school Clarion deck in my old truck that was waaay more powerful than it stated and that still sounds far better than my current JBL system in my new 3g taco.

The way I've read, our JBL system's are like old school high end systems where we'd have to replace the head and the brain/processor to get better sound. Road I'm not willing to drive down at the moment lol.

Remove and replace best way to go . If you want easy go on trail grid pro website . They have plug and play Sony high power radios that don’t need an amp . That and some new door speakers will be a huge improvement. Or go with that and go one more step with a small sub and an amp .I did a full system nothing crazy and it sounds amazing . I actually love driving the truck now just to hear the system , as stupid as that sounds

They do but that entire system cost like 3k plus. Guess I'll sit un-happily with my JBLs for now lol

Not stupid at all amigo. Not at all, sometimes sitting in traffic and blasting tunes is the only peace I get.
