pretty sure my springs are shot. They look more like a frown as opposed to a smile. I'm looking at the Skyjacker soft ride which says they'll yield 1.5" to 2" of lift. Would like to use in combination with Rancho quicklift, which is supposed to bring the front up 2.75". My question is this...will my ass end then sit 3/4" to
1-1/4" higher than the front? Or will it lift from factory spects, having more of a leveling effect? From what I understand, the Tacoma comes with a bit of a higher rear, correct?

Also, I believe the quicklift comes with rear shocks. Does anyone know how/if that would effect the softrides performance?

All Tacoma leaf springs have that characteristic, unlike other make and model trucks. Have you done the leaf spring recall?

I honestly didn't know there was a recall. It's a 2008 and is new to me as of 3 months ago with 50,000 on it.

Ahh ok... it may have been done. How many leaves do you have? Two leaves and an overload means the recall has not been done. Three leaves means it has been

Thanks for the info. I will check in the morning. With that being said...I'd still like to go with this setup. I've heard not so good things about putting "pucks" under the springs for lift and as much as everyone seems to like the Billie lifts in front (I'm sure for good reason), I think I'm gonna go with the quicklift. I just don't want to have an odd looking lift in the rear.

Just so you know... with that much lift up front you will very likely want to invest in UCAs to get a good alignment. While I haven't heard much about the quicklift, I haven't heard anything bad about them. I have OME 885 and Bilstein 5100s and couldn't be happier. Got me 2.5" up front. I also have a 2" AAL in the rear. I like the rake in the rear haha

Oh and the leaf spring recall involves getting entirely brand new leaf springs. So definitely hop on that if you can haha

Thanks JWL. I've read that anything below 3" should be safe, as far as UCA's. not the case? Or are you saying that in a "just to be safe" manner?

Mine has a Bilstein kit with OME 885's as well but I made a miscalculation and went with 1.5" lift blocks in the rear. The ride is great but I can't deal with the "cali-lean" so I'm switching to Dakars in a few weeks. Draw your own conclusions.

Depends on what you think is a good alignment. I had OME 884s (2" of lift) for a year and my caster was decent, but at the expense of camber. Before I knew it the outside of my tires wore way faster than the inside, even at 0.8 degrees. When I upgraded to 885s and got new tires I decided I wanted to make sure I got 0 camber and 0 toe and get 3.5 degrees caster. You can definitely try that much lift with the stock UCAs but be warned that there is a high likelihood your alignment specs will not be good

What setting on the Bilstein did use? I ask because I have a similar kit I'm ready to install.

With OME springs, 5100s are to be set at the 0 setting

Ok, thanks for the info guys. Does anyone happen to know what size shocks I should put in the back? I've searched and can't seem to find a definitive answer. Almost like no one knows?

For what it's worth I used to have Bilsteins 5100 and one 885's got 2.5 inch of lift and didn't need uca's. I'm on icon extended travel now with Light Racing uca's and now kinda thinking about getting the calving changed to a more progressive calving when time comes to get them rebuilt.

On the rear I had the factory leaf pack with a wheelers 3 leaf aal, then a set of used Deaver U402 that was pretty much shot. Finally I started thinking about getting the sky jackers but I've read at a couple places they weren't the best and there's a reason why people talk about getting Dakars or All Pros or Deavers. And after talking with Marie at Headstrong I ended up going with Dakars

I really like my Dakars with Bilstein b110's in the back. Just have to adjust bumpstop height accordingly

Lots of different answers for this one... if I could go back and do it again I would get Bilstein 5125s and bigger bump stops. My 5100s bottom out before the leaf spring does

Not off the top of my head. It should be listed on product information on online stores

Thank you so much! The dealership ordered parts today to replace all springs! Now that I'll have new ones, I'm thinking of just doing an aal.
