i've got a 2008 tacoma 4x4 trd off road. the rear left leaf spring has a broken inner leaf, and i'm looking for a replacement. i believe these leaf springs are stock, and i was hoping to replace just the one leaf spring. however, it looks like all recommended springs add some sort of lift, so i'd have to replace both rear springs and maybe other parts-- something i was hoping to avoid.

can anyone recommend a good (i guess at least as good as the stock toyota part, and similar enough that i wouldn't have to replace both springs) replacement leaf spring?

    does this work?

You will want to do both sides. I had the same (drivers rear) spring break on mine in July. I didn't want to lift my truck either so I went with replacement 3 leaf rears from generalspringkc.com which I recall being $159 each. It picked the back of the truck up a little over an inch. 5k miles and a few really heavy loads later they are still working great. I called a local spring shop about replacing just the one leaf and they wouldn't touch it unless they did both sides. And it was about $150 more for them to replace just the one leaf on each side than it was to buy the complete springs and install them myself. In case you weren't already aware broken leaf springs on these trucks are quite common.

i became aware of the notorious spring issue shortly after purchase-- something like two weeks ago. if that's the worst of this truck's issues, i imagine i'll be very happy w/ the purchase.

thanks for the info. went ahead and ordered replacement springs for both sides from your suggested vendor.
