Leaning toward driver side

Ok I know the 1st and 2nd gen had the taco lean issues, but is it still a thing for the 17s? Like is it a normal thing? I'm getting roughly .25" lower on driver side than passenger side. 17trdsport 4x4, with less than 2000 miles on it. Wondering if I should take it into the dealer.

Also, I haven't hauled anything heavy in it, I am usually the only one in the truck, and I just noticed it today, after 5 weeks of ownership

 

Pretty much normal, fuel tank and driver on that side.

 

Totally normal on the lean. 20 years almost and they cant seem to fix that. Lol

Lol dont do that unless you want to give the service guys something to laugh at. Buy the quarter inch spacer from @HeadStrong Off-Road, get it installed and be done with it

 

Where is the spacer installed? On the leaf springs in the back?

my 16 Colorado has same lean

 

Every vehicle "leans". It makes up for the crown on the road. Somehow this seems to turn into the "well known, (insert truck model here) lean". Its perfectly level driving down the road. You can put in a spacer, but then you'll have the, "steering wheel is at 11 oclock after I installed spacer issue". Alignment shop can fix that one, but then the infamous, "(Brand X) tire wear sucks" issue...

 

i guess i don't 100% see that every vehicle leans. i measured my wife's car, and none of my previous cars had a noticeable lean. maybe the flat bed box makes it more obvious?

So is this a 'smart truck' option to compliment the 'smart key'?

Do you have any lean on your 17?

 

Pretty much every vehicle has a lean, trucks more so that cars. Driver side equipment (dash, electronics, gas tank, driver weight, ect all add up. Springs and shocks are the same on both side so the side carrying more weight will be a hair lower. Don't fret, nothing to take it to the dealer to they will tell you it is with in specs. Not everything has to be perfect, those that think so live a life full of constant disappointment...

Install a dash cam, then take it to a dealer. The commentary should be entertaining.

 

I'm gonna measure with a full tank. I don't notice ant lean on mine. Is this more noticeable the higher you lift the truck? Mine isn't lifted I'm just curious.

 

It's really not an issue if it leans. If it bothers you, it's a cheap and easy fix with the front spacer.

If it isn't noticeable or you don't care, ignore it. Not hurting anything, and lean goes away when driving since you're not just standing at your driveway looking at your truck at that point.
