Ok so I just had my cv axles replaced Saturday. A day later my boot tore open so I took it back in and had it checked over at well trusted shop. They examined it and told me that because of the lift kit that is on it the angles are way off. Because they are angled at such a high degree the cv axles keep breaking on me. That's not all apparently the lift is also causing the drive shaft to mushroom in the differential where it connects to all the spider gears every time I go off road or over big bumps. I Didn't buy or install the lift myself I bought it that way and all the guy knew was that it was a 6in suspension lift. My question is does anyone know how to counter this, or could anyone point me in the right direction of another lift kit that's worth a damn.

Could be the installation wasn't done properly. Sounds like you need to drop the front differential, and probably do axle shims/carrier bearing adjustments to get the driveshafts in alignment. Most guys on here run a 3" lift but there are some running the 6" RCD lift.

Definitely need to see some pics. If it is a Drop bracket lift, the CV angles should be pretty close to stock if they did it correctly. If is just a huge spacer on top of the shock, that is most likely the issue.

Idk the brand of lift, I bought it that way and the guy didn't know, or he probably didn't want me to know it was a cheap lift job. Well I'll try to get some pictures up on here for you guys, I appreciate the input

    The pics are kinda crappy...
the front on shot they look bad...
    Slide the boots a bit

Damn that's a big spacer... Take a measurement from the center of the hub to the bottom of your fender.

You've got to get rid of that monstrosity of a spacer

So you think its because that top spacer that it's causing the problem? And if so besides lowering it what do you think I should use instead of that top spacer to keep it at 6in. I wouldn't mind dropping it down but I really don't have it in my budget right now to fix that cross member and buy a set of coilover to do a 3in instead. I'm bout to be jobless in 20 days so I'm trying to fix the problem as cheaply as possible.

Absolutely, can you measure that? It looks like its 3"-4" long

Anything over 3" will put your CV's in danger... The more over 3" the worse obviously.
Take that measurement, then we can tell how much lift you're getting from it

    Is it a drop bracket?

5in spacer, and it's 28in from center hub to bottom of fender, and yes it is a drop bracket

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
I think it is the aftermarket axles that are the problem. Your angles look OK, but it looks like the boot ends aren't far enough down the axle. See if you can slide the boot ends to where the notch is on the shaft.

That's how rough country's drop bracket is. Very harsh angles and weak spindles.

My suggestion is to get some extended RCD 5100's and toyotec 1.6" springs. I do have mine for sale before I upgraded to Fox's. Really great setup and you can completely ditch the spacers. I'll post some pics when I get to my computer

Almost every budget db lift these days comes with that huge strut spacer. Check out rough county lifts for dodge, Chevy, nissan, Toyota, exc..It's designed to use your stock struts and springs ( keeping it budget friendly). Since the lower control arms are dropped only remove the spacer if you purchase the extended bilstein struts like in the pics befor this post. But as far as cv angles they honestly don't look bad. If I had to put money on it, I'd say the boot was damaged during installation of the cv and wasn't aware of it.

Do you kno the name of the lift? Look behind the skid plate in the front and it should be under there. But the thing about a drop bracket lift is usually in most cases you have to cut out your rear cross member, there for makings it very difficult to go back to stock or anything less than 4 inches. If I was you I would just replace with extended struts that are offered with the rdc lifts and some eibach 1.6 springs and be very happy!

Is there any way you can measure the distance from bolt mount to bolt mount on your lower control arm? Just to see how big the db is
