Just lifted mine 3in and I have peddle vibration on a hard take off. Has your vibes got worse or less?

I drove about 150 miles with the lift.

The vibes don't tend to cure themselves. put it in 4WD and see if it goes away. If it does then it is likely your needle bearing and you should do the ECG bushing. If not then you will likely have to do a carrier bearing rotate/drop, axle degree shim, etc. It will help to verify your drive shaft angles to determine what corrective action to take.

My truck is a pre-runner so should I start with carrier rating drop?

So I brought my truck in to be looked at by lift kit installer. We took it for a drive and they said the vibrations were minor and nothing to worry about and more likely a minor tire balancing issue rather than drive line vibrations. They said if it was a drive line issue I would feel vibrations at all speeds and not just some speed ranges. Can anyone weigh in on this? I am not sure why tire balaning issues would be more pronounced at certain speeds.

A tire shop recommend putting the truck in neutral at the speed I am getting vibes and see if it stops. If it stops they said its a driveline issue. If it doesn't stop likely a tire balancing issue. Is this line of thought correct? Drive shaft would stop rotating in neutral even while coasting right?

Also, my dakars or shock started squeaking when braking a low speeds and when I accelerate at low speeds. Haven't been able to pin point it yet. If I grab the edge of bed and rock the truck it squeaks/creaks. Not bad, but fairly annoying since I paid a lot for the OME kit and install. It seems to go away when it rains contrary to what others experienced. Today I took it to a wash bay and lightly sprayed dakars from a distance. After that the squeaking went away, but it seems to come back when the truck dries out.

What have people found to be the most effective way to get rid of this? I saw several posts about using things like WD40 or penetrating oil on the dakars.

Was also wondering if others had more success with just getting some good off road use with flexing or if the problem just gets better with time as the suspension breaks in.

    Thanks,

    AC

    6" Fabtech lift,
With a 6" lift, should I try flipping and toting carrier bearing or should I just get a drop kit first?

Finally got around the installing the axle shims today- I have a URGENT question- skinny side of the shin to the front? And since I have 1.5" lifting blocks does the shim go under the block ( between axle pad and block) or on top of the block ( between block and leaf springs) ???? Or does it even matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Ok, got the shims installed today. Flipped the carrier bearing back to the OE position. Drove the truck, and not a single vibration! Those who have vibs- grab some axle shims!

For all of you that flipped your carrier bearing... how?? I just jumped under my truck to see if I could flip it, pulled off to two bolts that hold it to the frame, rotated and no love. The carrier bearing width upside down is too wide for the mount that it sits on upside down. Is my truck just an oddball?

I've had vibes forever and just kind of ignored it but now that I've got some smooth riding KO2's, I wanna get these vibes taken care of.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    Just shove it in.
Or shim it with some washers after flipping it.
Mine was too high after rotating. I shimmed it down 3/4 inch. It's still a bit higher than what it was un-shimmed before flipping.
Seems to have smoothed out all but the launch shudder at 5mph.

Not trying to be a dick but remove your lift and I guarantee you the vibrations will go away. I could never understand why someone would take a perfectly good smooth running truck and mess it up with a lift for the sakes of "getting the look". I perfectly understand when someone needs the clearance for off road use but most don't use there vehicle that way. Some even lift they're prerunners which I'll never understand. I guess the "big truck feel" is more important and people will just live with worse gas mileage, vibrations, poor handling from the high centre of gravity, and tire wear.

It wasn't from the lift. I had vibrations after I took my truck off of some sweet jumps.
