i am with Cajun Navy Relief and I need to lift my truck so I can get my boat to where the action is. I have a 2003 2WD Prerunner and I'm wanting to lift it 6to7 inches. I see a lot of 4WD kits but no 2WD. Thanks!!

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
If your truck is a Prerunner (6 lugs on the wheel) all of the "4x4" lifts will work on your truck.

None of the "2wd" (5 lugs on the wheel) lift kits will work on your truck.

And just to get it out of the way now... there is no spindle lift for a 6 lug Prerunner.

    "2WD Prerunner" is redundant.

Curious what a 6-7" lift will do for you in a 2wd truck in terms of capability.

Are you thinking water coverage of paved roads?

Other than that, your ground clearance is still somewhat limited by the centerline of the axles, and tire diameter is the only way to move that a little.

Getting 6 to 7 inch lift on a Tacoma is going to be a lot of work. The cheapest way to do it would be a drop bracket lift. (I, personally wouldn't do one of those)

Suspension lift max would really be a 3 inch lift, then you could add an inch body lift. That would really be your best bet if you're looking for the lift you're talking about.

Thanks for all of the replies. My computer died so I have to use my phone which is a pain in the butt. I guess I should have asked how high can they be lifted and still be safe to drive. I am going to be driving on flooded streets;no off road driving. Thanks again for all your help.

I've read that going above 3" requires a lot of work, but I always figured that was because people were worried about CV angles and other 4x4 components I don't have. I'm not sure what issues you'll run into with a prerunner though.

EDIT: Not to thread jack, but is it bad for the suspension to remove the engine? I feel like that would remove a lot of the front end weight and cause it to lift up much higher than normal (< 3"). I only ask because my OME suspension arrived today but I also have to replace my engine. Not sure if it's a big deal or not to do the suspension first and engine replacement after.

Yes, if your truck has no engine in it, that’s quite a relief of load on the front suspension. Your truck will probably sit 2-3+ inches higher than it normally would.

So In theory, 3” lift with no engine = 6” lift :bananadance:

It shouldn’t be bad for the suspension. Do them in whatever order works out best.
