Set an alert for CL using this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/popup-notifications-for-c/aenadocogjnkbmchfnkpipdinoleakbj

For facebook groups/marketplace, go to the marketplace and search for tacoma tonneau and set an alert for it, then check back every day or so.

That's about all there is to it, I've had my truck for about 3 months and I'm not even looking for a cover and I've seen 3-4 in the $100-200 range. It's kinda like stock mudflaps, there are people who will put them up for $100, and there are people who will just give you a set that they took off their new truck. If I'm being honest - This forum is probably the worst place to look, because most of the people on here are enthusiasts who value their parts at the absolute highest end of the market because they know the audience is more likely to buy at that price.

Didn't mean to start a back-and-forth...a guy did offer me $400, but I'm in a "I'm OK if I don't sell it because it's a nice accessory that I might use someday and I have storage space" space. Regardless, I'm enjoying my new truck and I have been able to find helpful ideas here, so I appreciate all the info!

I have a diamondback HD for sale for a shortbed. I've had it for almost 2 years. I'll sell it for $1200. Located in Olympia.

“DO NOT BASH for sale threads in what you think is a good price to sell an item. PM the OP and give them a suggestion. You have been warned and actions will be taken if this happens.”

Here’s an excerpt from the marketplace rules for any new members.

Is this the marketplace? Was a For Sale thread bashed? Or was a reply by someone, not the thread originator, having his offer critiqued? Would the seller's ad meet the rules of the marketplace to put it there? (hint: it wouldn't).

I understand that rules exist for a reason, but how far does that extend? Doesn't seem to apply in this case, as the person offering the cover didn't start this thread (so it's not their for-sale thread).

We comment all the time around here on Craigslist ads regarding the pricing (great deal, crack smoking high, etc.) . In this case, the CL ad linked happened to be by one of the members here. Doesn't make it a "marketplace" ad, and thus subject to those rules....
