Hey y'all found this group thought it might be a good one to join.
A little bout me, I own a pretaco purchased in 92 while stationed in Japan. It has 324k on it (untouched engine). It's a 93 with a 3.0, and yes I can keep up with tacos as long as I don't hit a hill or a head wind. I had an 07 taco but the ex got it n the house, which I'm ok with it was an auto with major frame issues.

The toy is my daily driver and been to a lot of places. Only place I have not finished is Moab.white rim trail took my rear end out.
Thinking about making this a overlander and trading my dodge for either an fj or a taco. Problem us CAN'T FIND ONE WITH OUT ALL THOSE PESKY POWER FEATURES.

Love offloading and the great out doors.

324K without having to do a head gasket on the 3.0 is great! Welcome. Hope you find a Tacoma or FJ. I do not like all the power features either, but apparently most buyers do since they make and sell lots of them.

I keep hearing head issues with the 3.0. When does it usually happen should I start worrying my valve train is starting to make a little noise when climbing hills or under heavy loads.

I swear the valve train always makes a clicking sound, even when they are new, but a valve adjustment might help.

For the head gasket, if you start loosing coolant, your oil is milky looking, there is a milky build up under your oil fill plug, or you see excess water vapor in your exhaust you might have a head gasket issue. I would not worry about it until you have symptoms.

Mine blew at 186,000 miles, but I make lots of short trips and I think the expansion/contraction contributes to the problem.
