Had the same issue years ago, it was the transmission. There are some small channels that can get clogged, a couple of fluid changes solved the issue.

I rebuilt the rear driveshaft. All 3 u-Joints, and the carrier bearing.

    SMOOTH AS BUTTER NOW!!

The front U-joint was toast. Even though the dealer and two mechanics told me it was fine. It was totally dried out, deformed and half the needles were gone.

Just goes to show. If you want something done, do it yourself.

I had something similar last year and it turned out to be the driveshaft AND a transmission service. The driveshaft is a two piece /tube within a tube/ design and the inner weld broke. The remaining shudder was resolved with a transmission fluid service.

Shudder at low speed. Had it- started barely noticeable- increasingly got worse over a few weeks to the point where felt like I had to fix it. Seemed to start after the vehicle was warm.
Started with a tune up - plugs , filters etc. No change.
Took it to the dealer and took a mechanic for a drive. Luckily, was able to replicate the issue with him. He said it was likely the torque converter. he said most cost effective first step was to flush the tranny. Said only a 50% success rate in doing this- so I scheduled the flush.
Meantime, I added some Shudder Fixx. Shudder went away completely and has been 2 weeks. Going to have the flush today, but I'm expecting this will be successful given the success of the Shudder Fixx.
Going to ask to check-out the old fluid when they're done. Also going to ask them to add a Shudder fixx equivalent after the flush - thinking maybe Lubegard Platinum. Seems to be well liked around here.

$400, and all my vibes and take off shudder are gone. Money well spent.
