    Hi to all,
i have been lurking here for a few months now. i am a huge toyota fan. Have a 4runner now and looking to purchase a Tacoma to use as a platform for a truck camper/overland vehicle. Not looking to do hard core off roading, but want something that can get me off the beaten path. Any tips, suggestions or vehicles that come to mind would be much appreciated. Looking at 3rd generation, 4x4 TRD Offroad models. Still not sure between the 5' and 6' bed. Share your thoughts and experiences. Located in the San Diego area.

    thanks,

    kgree3

Welcome to TW…I like the 6ft. bed so my 4-wheeler doesn’t sit on the tailgate. I just wished that the DCLB had the option of a manual tranny.

I have the 5 foot SR5 Double Cab and love it. You just need to look at what you'll be doing with the truck and get your order in. Finding a double cab 6' bed on a dealership lot would be like finding a unicorn in a snow storm....lol....I'm sure whatever you pick will be great!
