Magnaflow== which one?

lots of posts saying "get a magnaflow" as the best overall muffler here on TW....

there seem to be several different part numbers on this.

so which magnaflow muffler do you want for a 3.4L v6 AT Taco (2003)?

not looking for loud & dont want highway drone, but dont mind a decent sound either.

side note: its got a generic turbo muffler on it now thats rusting out & getting noisy.

 

I replaced the muffler on the MBRP Turn Down System (#S5332AL) with a MagnaFlow Performance Muffler #12246, and it sounds absolutely fantastic. No drone, still throaty, and doesn't sound like it gets plugged up like many of the catback offerings.

 

I run a Flowmaster Dbx. It's med-high with a bit of drone (mainly when accelerating) but little restriction

ive got MBNA on 2 of our jeeps right now & they do drone a bit... thats why was gonna try the magnaflow this time on the taco.

Borla always has great stuff, but im a poor boy & my taco has 235K on it.

Are you going to run a full tailpipe all the way out past the rear wheel? Do you have two CATs?

 

yeah its ran in the stock location & the pipe is good. .. the muffler is just a cheapy that is rotting out.

there are no cats or anything. its a straight pipe from right behind the O2 sensor back to the muffler & then up/over the axle & out in stock location.

 

Yeah, no cats will make it significantly louder. I'd look at one of the 24" body magnaflows. The come it 14", 18" and 24" sizes. Match the pipe size to the size on the truck. Same for the in/out positions on the muffler.
