Maint Req Light

Have 07 w/ 75,000. Light recently came on. Bought at 70,000 in Nov. Put 5,000 on it. Prev. owner only changed crankcase oil during that time. I changed out everything but rear end and trans.(auto) including plugs, air filter. Also cleaned MAF and intake aroung butterfly. Anyone know why light came on?

 

It's telling you it's time to change the oil. Comes on solid after 5k miles.

 

In the owners manual it says maintenance required light every 5k for oil change. Has instructions for reset.

 

Does it come on for other things besides oil? I bought mine with 29500 from the dealer and now it has 30500. They changed the oil. Did they just forget to reset it or does it need something else?

 

It comes on 5K after it was last reset, not at 5, 10 15, etc. If reset at 29.5K it will come on solid at 34.5K.

 

I reset it this morning so hopefully won't see it again. They must have forgot to reset it at the dealer.

 

When you get close to 5k, you will see it flash 3-4 times then go off, when you hit 5k from when you reset it, it will stay on solid till you reset again.
