Okay I am sure there is already a thread on this but I just couldn't find it. I am having a problem with my 2005 trd off road v6 with a miss firing problem. I have change the spark plugs and the coil pack on the cylinder that it says it is miss firing on. What else could be the problem?

I hope for your sake it's not number 6 cylinder misfiring mainly on start-up. If it is, there is a pretty high possibility of a head gasket failure leaking a small amount of coolant into #6 cylinder. It's getting to be too common on the 2005's, somewhere around 2006 or 2007 the HG was changed to a new updated part number.

What cylinder is misfiring? P030X would be your code, the X relates to the specific cylinder (1-6) or 0 for random/multiple cylinders.

I've only every heard of the head gasket issue on #6 cylinder, but more than a handful of cases it now. Still not widespread, but more than I'd like to see, and I haven't had the issue.

Read through the thread I linked, I gave some tips on confirming that there is coolant in the cylinder. If there is any, you're going to have to replace the head gasket(s) (both sides while you are at it, ideally) There are threads with bits and pieces of head gasket replacement info if you are going to do it yourself, I know one recent one has a link to the factory service manual info.

Thank you for the help man. Do you know a rough estimate of the fix?

That's just Carfax's estimated repair bill. It'll probably be cheaper at a local shop. Just an idea though to keep in the back of your head.

Oh wow, that blows. Try dropping it off at a shop first and let them diagnose the problem. It may be something else, so let someone with experience take a look at it before jumping to conclusions.
