Mod Rust Concerns

I'm considering some exterior mods that involves some drilling such as a mounted bottle opener (the most important mod), perhaps a cabin rack, and who knows what else may come up. I know to use stainless hardware but I'm curious if anyone can suggest a way to treat the drilled holes/ rust points after breaking the paint?

 

Might try looking up marine grade antiseize.

Prevents rust in saltwater environments and is persistent enough to resist washout.
