Wondering which MTS mode folks are using to drive in snowy conditions? Also is 4x4 (L) or 4x4 (H) better for snow?
    Thanks.

4x4H is what you should use most of the time. 4L is for very bad conditions. I think I only used it once. in 4 years. (for snow) I don't have a 16 so i cant help you with the MTS.

Depends, snow covered road = 4H, back road snow/ice =4L; but that's up to you and how fast you want to go...
Have not tried MTS on snow yet but I think it will fair well on most settings.

I think people said the sand selection for snow as well. Check your manual, sure it tells you

The worst thing on packed snow and ice is to break traction. You want the least amount of torque you can get to the wheels for a given situation without lugging the engine. Always 4H, sometimes even starting out in 2nd, and very gentle throttle adjustment rules the day.

Deep snow is a different animal altogether and conserving momentum is key. Usually 4H is still all you need but if it's really deep 4L can help you to keep it in the power without upsetting traction during shifting due to effectively closer gearing.

Yeah, I kinda wondered what was best for driving in nasty snow/ice weather.
No problems driving at highway speeds in 4H? Or is that just for the slower, crunching ice speeds?

You want to be in 4hi in snow. 4lo is off road, slow speeds only

I'm thinking about 4wheeling an active volcano area in a few weeks and wondering what others' inputs would be for most appropriate MTS Mode to traverse flowing magma
