I'm looking for some help on my 2017 navigation screen. I recently had to change the battery, and after the change is when I noticed this change in the navigation mode.
Before I changed the battery if I was on the freeway and the navigation screen was a full screen it would show what I would call your normal GPS screen picture. However after the battery change now when I'm on the freeway the screen will become a split screen with the GPS on the left and a list of up coming exits on the right, I can return to the full screen if I clear the exits... but this is a real pain, and it never did this before the battery change. Also the dealer has no clue they said that the split screen is standard, but I have had the truck for 3yds with the full screen.... can anyone tell me how to get rid of this.

When you are in nav mode there should be a settings button, (the gear /cog) it should be in there. You should be able to change it from exit amenities, to turn by turn, etc and back to just the route map. I think it is under "Map Mode" in the settings menu.

Sort of along the same line. 2020. When in nav mode a split screen comes up listing POI's. Anyway to shut the darned thing off?

@necron99 sorry was going off memory. You have to be on the dedicated nav screen then press the "OPTIONS" button top left. Then you get this screen.
    IMG_20210615_125414743.jpg choose "Map Mode".
    And get this screen:
IMG_20210615_125440770.jpg the one that is hard to read is "Map Only".

Thanks for the info, although I have it set in the full map mode and it still comes up, going to try under options... pause guidance and see what that does.

Only other thing I can tell you is read the manual. Maybe it will be in there.

K... I have checked the navigation owners manual page 229, and 232 it said on the map screen select options then go to pause guidance... only problem is that there is no pause guidance option. Anyone else want to throw in a suggestion

The dealer said the same thing, although when you tap the map side of the screen it just marks were ever you tap as a location and stops screen movement. But thanks for the info every bit helps.

Ok. So does the split screen only happen when you punch in a destination or all the time? Reason I ask is. on my end with no destination set, full screen stays full screen. If I punch in a destination, I have full screen till a turn comes up, then a split. After said turn it goes back to full screen.

as for the pause guidance… this option does not show till you stop and are in park (Toyota safety crap) With a route entered.

When you first start the truck goes to a split screen... no option for single screen, touch map screen and you have a full screen with no route navigation and will stay that way with no street exits or turns till you put in a destination.... however if you get on the freeway with no destination imputed the split screen with all exits listed pops up, and is a real pain

@necron99 question for yea.. Are you using the Nav in 2d or 3d mode? When the split pops up. does it show 2 little arrows (>>) in the bottom left of said split (intersections screen)? If so, try and touch the arrows and see what happens.

I was going to go out and play with this thing, but a long day was had and now on call. So I will tomorrow evening. Curiosity is getting the best of me.

Hey guys, My display stays full screen around town/on the highway with no map split.. My only suggestion is when on the highway, hit the option tab when in full screen in the upper left, then map mode, and see what display is highlighted. If other than full screen, tap it then. That’s all I got
