need help creating lock

    Hi all, I am new to the forum. I tried to search the problem i have but could not find it.

    I have a 2013 Tacoma. Many people told me it is extremely easy to steal the trunk door. and it cost 1000 to replace one. I told it to my mechanic he suggest me look for some solution online or some type of lock then he will install it for me.

    Do you guys have any recommendation of what i should do to make a lock for my trunk door? i upload the picture for more clarity. sorry if i am confusing
