there have been quite a few instances where the throwout bearing wears out pretty quickly due to the bell housing being made of aluminum and the throwout or something related to it being made of steel. if im not mistaken theres a tsb for it, but i doubt the construction that causes the issues has been changed. ive also seen a kit that basically puts a steel sleeve over the aluminum parts that get worn quickly. i just had the parts replaced under warranty on mine, says they replaced the throwout, slave cylinder, and clutch fork ball. thats about as far as my understanding of the issue goes.

Yes get the Auto and the extra tranny cooler. I have the 6-speed and as far as I know the issues have not been addressed.

Get on the highway and shift hard at high rpms...you will hear it. The tranny in my 05 was replaced at ~25k for this issue, tons of grinding and just a disaster if you were pushing. The auto in the new truck is so smooth, doesn't even compare. If you are getting the v6, get the auto, no question.

sincro does not allow 3rd to go in unless you wait a sec....the grind will let you know it ante ready  Gonna live with it until clutch time.

Also there is a OEM rubber jank in there that shreds after a while...this can cause popping out of gear and grinding gears...this is not a tranny issue rather a shifter issue....easy fix that seems like your tranny is screwed.

    here's the fix....marlin makes em
