Gentleman. I tagged on a thread on the 2nd gens page on frame replacement extras. Figure i'd ask on first gens page as well. I may be getting a new frame put on. Not approved yet. Is there any items that i should get the dealer to do while the truck is getting the new frame put on? For example, fuel pump since the tank is already exposed. I got 200k on the truck and the body is perfect. Just looking to see if I could get some stuff done to it that they might cut me a break on the labor.

If some one has already made some comments on this, my bad as I have not found it yet.

It tends to vary from dealership to dealership, as they each have their own policies. But most have found that they either charge very little or no labor to replace the things that have to come off anyway for the frame swap. Fuel pump you might have to pay some labor since the pump is inside the fuel tank, I'm not sure. But contact your dealership about it, either way it's the best time to get that kind of work done because it will be much easier with it all exposed once the body is removed from the frame.

I wouldnt bother replacing something that does not have a recommended service interval, such as the fuel pump.

I would however have them do the timing belt and any other engine maintenance if its due.
