New guy here, Sold my 08" Tundra and decided to downsize. Picked up an 06' silver DCLB, 4x4, TRD sport, auto, 130k, NEW frame (that's why I got this one). I've had many different Toyotas this is my first Tacoma, so far I'm really enjoying it.

In the week that I've had it so far I've.

Changed spark plugs: Which I assume was never done (130k) because they were half denso and half NGK.

Made some 1" spacers for the rear of front seats, (I'm a machinist)

Installed rear DEPO blacked out taillights, one of the originals was broke.

    Cleaned/buffed headlights with toothpaste.

Removed charcoal filter, ordered TRD air filter.

    Changed oil/filter Mobile 1 synthetic 0w-20

Things I'm going to do soon:

Need to find some used front mud flaps and install (LMK if you got some for cheap)

Remove tow hitch and sandblast then powder coat

Get some seat covers and all weather floor mats

Anyways glad to be here, I'm located in Spokane, WA

    Welcome, and a quick question?

Does the toothpaste on the headlight thing work good?

It defiantly cleared them up, mine were very hazy, now I can actually see inside them. Just used a circler motion with a soft cloth and then cleaned them off a few times.

google it, also I've heard of baking soda and vinegar, making a paste

    Welcome!
    Congrats on your ride.
    A new frame is nice!!!
Change diff and tranny fluids check breather on rear diff.
Also secondary air pump lots have issues with this and the valve related to it. Seems they like to eat the foam filter they come with.

I did cal trend neosupreme seat covers from Amazon pretty happy with them for the price. Fit nice and look nice.

I also did husk front flaps from Amazon. Pleased with them as well.

I did wade custom fit front floor mats from Amazon as well.
Very pleased with these also and a lot cheaper than weather tech.

Hope this helps in some way.
    Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check out Amazon.

I did check the rear diff fluid seemed pretty clean/new, wasn't sure if they change any of these fluids when swapping out the frame. Definitely want to do a total fluid change on the transmission along with the front and rear diffs and transfer.

Thanks, I'm pretty use to it! LOL, every car or truck I get seems to drain the wallet! But I enjoy doing it.

Ok, so it appears I don't have the emission air pumps 2006. I went and checked and didn't see them. Can someone confirm the year they started using these on Tacomas? I dealt with this issue on the Tundra (was covered) and sure hope I don't have these on the Tacoma.

You can buy a resistor that tricks the ECU into thinking it's running for $400 or so if it really does become an issue or you can probably make your own if your good with circuits.

    I think I'm good to go, didn't see one. Just read that the 05-11 4.0 v6's didn't have them.
