Hey everyone! I'm new to the community and I have a few questions. I'm trying to find out if you can use a can of the compressed r-134 from the parts store to recharge the A/C in my 2005 4WD. Any ideas?

    I do it occasionally.

We have old vehicles (all of them post-R12) and they have small leaks. When the A/C doesn't cool like its supposed to, I top off the refrigerant charge with one of those cans of R134. You also need a gauge/adapter tool which you can get along with the can of R134 as part of a kit. A can of R134 by itself, is around $20 . Read the instructions carefully.
