Hey, been lurkin and checking the classifieds. Made this account to make myself visible and show my interest. I plan to get a tacoma soon. Does anyone have any advice?

I am in a 2018 Crosstrek right now and caught the offroad bug. In CO and feel the urge to get a truck, have the bed to use, and functionality of a truck is appealing. I have never owned a truck before, but have been reading a lot of stuff about tacomas recently.

Planning to get a 3rd gen DCSB, OR model, MT.

    Thanks

I am lifted with tires! I love my crosstrek, its very capable for what it is. I've driven over some pretty crazy stuff, but want more capability.

What about buying something with a front locker? Is that a concern? Plan to go that hard off road?

No I don't think so. I think the tacoma's traction (a-trac) and rear locker will be all that I need. The clearance and approach angles are great as well.

A Trac does seem to be pretty awesome I dont have it, I have an sr5, with good tires I find the truck pretty good offroad.

No, I am itching to though. I specifically need to find a manual to test drive. I will soon and then determine for sure.
