looking for a lift kit and tires
I have a 2021 Tacoma Sport wanting to lift it and put bigger tires on it with the undercover aswell but I have heard there is not much sence to this for off road as the water would screw up all the new computers put in new trucks these days. Is this true? will going through a foot or 2 of a river will ruin my truck?
    thanks in advance

2016 and on Tacoma’s are 100% water proof. One of the reasons they are so popular.

Generally, you don’t want to get water above the center of the wheel.
Once you go deeper, you start to submerge actuators on the differentials.
The are “supposed” to be water tight. But they aren’t always, the older the truck gets so does the vent hoses. If they crack, they will let water in.

I’ve had my new 23 100% submerged…in salt water. Not 1 malfunction. Even the carpets stayed dry. Transmission still hunts for gears though.

    Define %100 submerged?
At some point water will enter the cab.
Once it hits the intake it’s game over.

A sample size of 1 doesn't mean every other truck submerged in water will have the same results. Also, "100%" implies roof is under water......nothing is made for that except submarines.

Getting much more than the diffs in water is a bad idea and even the diffs are not a great idea.
