not to say the new LR ones are not good (didnt know they were updated) but i dunno...not wild about the boots i guess. when i took mine off...the boots were already messed up...oozing out as well. and i didnt really put a beating to it or anything and the seal or whatever is in there was already f'ed up. least with the balls you can lube em up and see whats wrong.

That is part of my problem. The shop that did my alignment said it was good but they couldn't give me a print out. The stock UCAs are adjusted all the way in and it still looks like front wheels have a positive camber not the outside of the front tire are getting chewed up.

Just tint and ppl for now.
I hear ya. That must have been the Stock ball joint boots I would imagine.

I took my boots off the ball joint on the LRs for the first time in 70k miles a few days ago. There was a little grease left and the ball joint is still as good as new. Just replaced with grease and good to go. They are real easy to pull off too. One bolt and they are out.

At least a playing cards worth. :D

    And this^^^

Ok, I'm done being a fanboy.... For now.

    gotta use grease.

I've had mine since the middle of the summer. I lube them with a few drops of bike chain lube every now and then, but I have NEVER noticed them making any noise at all.

I live 2 minutes from the beach and have no problems at all with my dsm ucas

gotta rotate the spring. mine used to hit way worse than that

I feel bad for Scot's truck.

If it ever does need to get totaled I vote for Wharton (so I can be in it when it goes in). I know a good lake

so I put my all pro front skid on about 2 weeks ago and when doing so noticed that there was some residue on the factory piece of aluminun foil they call a skid plate. didnt think much of it because 3 days before i had had my oil changed and figured the lube tech was just a lil sloppy with the LOF (which i could care less, cause i use to work with the guy at a shop and now he is a toyo tech - plus i took it in when he was trying to leave.

when me and anthony were doing the UCA's this weekend i noticed MORE (alot more) fluid being caught on the new skid. Which told me something was leaking and it was leaking a pretty good amount. We didnt really give it much thought cause we were doing the uca's.But it looked as if it was coming from the front differential.

Had a few drops of something on the driveway and thought ok...this is it time to drop it off. Unfortunately i am out of my factory basic warranty (41k on the odo) but i called and talked to a service rep and i TOLD him since the front diff has to do with moving the vehicle, it should be considered a moving part and covered under the powertrain warranty...he said well you have a valid point and told me to bring it down and they would check it out....and after lifting it and throwing 33s on it thought...great toyota is gonna deny any and everything because of this.

well just dropped it off and had the service advisor give me a call already 2 hours into being open and told me the crank seal is leaking pretty badly. He said he hadnt seen something like that on a taco before, but they were covering everything and i should have it back by closing time. Props to the team toyota in langhorne for taking care of everything quickly (Ryan was my service advisor)

with the crank seal leaking that much...should i be concerned with anything else???
