Pat, from expience if you don't have the lighting colors spaced out appropriately amber to white is going to make almost no difference as the less dominant color is going to be washed out. You're better off running all amber down low since it's going to be your primary light up close and putting the whites up higher via a light bar on the roof for distance. The pillars as you have them drawn are going to serve almost no purpose except looking awesome! Get a diffused light on the apillars and angle them out a bit to add some light to the sides since you have a ton of forward facing spots already.

I wish I had a good pic to show you how I have mine aimed but it's basically as I described, he 30" spot Amber lights up in front of the truck and flows up into all my white light which is used for distance however I found that running no white at all when its dusty out is the best option!

so cliff.. when the time comes.. i was going to get D2 ambers on the hood.. think they will provide some good dust driving coverage (The roof bar will be off, as I agree with you)

I've noticed that with my amber Duallys and just my headlights. They mix and I lose the amber. But this only happens where the top of the Duallys meet the bottom of my headlight.

A lot of it comes down to how much of each light you're running and how they are aimed. The way my lights are set up the ambers are down low for dust and closer up holes and the light flows up into the white lights on the roof where they are eventually washed out. If you mounted 2 lights side by side in different colors but the same output the white would be what's primarily visible

Have you tried using the diffused shields on your current amber d2s?

I currently only have amber 20" and white d2's. That picture is what I think will be perfect. Not what I have currently

The only problem I have with my light output is the white light doesnt reach out far enough and I dont want a 50 on my roof I dont feel like dealing with those issues.

Yeah same here. I really don't plan on a bar on the roof. That why I figured spots on the hood so I can get some distance from a higher angle.
