front (anti) sway-bar disconnected and thrown into my "junk" pile also known as the garage.

for those curious about this free and completely easy "mod", heres the writup and my feeling as to whether it benifits me or not. prepare for the bore.

remove skidplate(s) i disconnected at the frame brackets first. two 14mm bolts on each side. the bar falls down a bit. then i disconnected at the spindles using a 17mm box-end and allen key to hold the stud while turning the nut off of it. then removed the brackets tying the front of frame to the front diff crossmember. it now comes right out.

i suggest having a friend handy to watch as you crank your tires either way to reach the end-link to spindle connections to make sure you dont hit your partially disconnected sway bar. its easy.

driving around there IS A DIFFERENCE. it no longer drives like a car it drives like a truck. expect body roll whether braking, accellerating, it doesnt matter. the truck will roll in corners. especially switchbacks.

i found it manageable though as long as im driving like a civilized person. like driving as i would with my son, the roll is a non-issue. if i behave, it behaves and is completely predictable. just no more time-trials up to the mountains.

i havent had a chance to off road it, but one wheeling up curbs the truck stays more level. good things. however, i put a front tire on my jack and jacked it up expecting the raised corner to bottom out but never did. in fact i only measured a 2" difference center-hub to fender on both front tires. i did the same thing with a back tire and measured a 3" difference at front wheels. so really, in the controlled environment of my garage, the sway-bar removal did very little. i was really hoping to meet full bump at the lifted wheel without the truck threatening a stationary rollover

i will have a rock report here in the next couple weeks. or at least a trail with some wierd off-camber stuff and some holes to see if i can maintain better traction than before. thanks for the read
