Odd wire

So, I was putting in my Visor light control box and I am glad I checked the initial place I planned to put it. There is a wiring harness inside the unmarked static 'button'. I was wondering if any of you could tell me why it is there. I know Toyota prewires some of their models but I could not find anything about it anywhere, manual, haynes repair book, or online.

Toyota tends to have the wiring for nearly all features, even if your truck didn’t come with that feature. I don’t know what all factory buttons could have gone there, but don’t worry about it. Push it out of the way and proceed

may have been for the E-trac button. Seems that’s the main one that I can find that yours doesn’t appear to have

 

That’s the location for the driver side seat heater control knob on my 2014. It’s likely cheaper for Toyota to manage one wire harness and just put in a blank for uninstalled features for a given trim level.
