It’s 10 years old. Vehicle stereos live a tough life and don’t last forever unfortunately

A big part is just the temp fluctuations they experience. In the winter, they go from freezing hot to a reasonable temperature as the truck heats up, then back to freezing. Sometimes multiple times a day. Than the complete opposite in the summer. Solder joints expand and contract. LCD panels start to fail. If you’re somewhere humid, rust can start to form on the control boards. Then add in all the vibration just from driving around, and then multiply that exponentially if you off-road or live down a dirt road or anything like that.

You can probably find a used headunit over in the 2nd gen marketplace for pretty cheap. But just know it’s age means it probably doesn’t have 10 more years in it

I will replace it when the screen quits.
Then there is the whole process of what to replace it with and keep all my features :annoyed:

You’ll keep everything as long as you get the right parts. And don’t try to get a boss radio, or any of the other cheapo’s. Pyle, dual, planet audio, etc

Fat Bob's lift kit, 30's on stock steelies, lunchbox locker in the rear, and a ton of other general mods and additions to help the utility of the truck for my particular uses.
Mine does the same thing on occasion. Actually I even made a post about it awhile back. What I have found to work is to turn the screen off through the settings menu and then back on. Everything went back to normal. Then when it does it again weeks or months down the road, I just repeat the process. Sadly, as stated above headunits don’t last forever. I’m beginning to look for a replacement, but it needs to support my factory backup camera and a few other features.

Probably need a new screen, there have been several posts on here about replacement of these screen with instructions on how to do it, around $125. My take go find a pic a part place and buy a replacement one but stay away from any of the 2017-19 radios as they do plug in but are too wide and high to fit without heavy modifications to the face plate.
