Help! I have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma SR5, Extended Cab, 2WD, 2.7L, that came with a bare bones overhead console. I acquired a temperature / compass readout overhead console from a 2011 Tacoma to replace it. The male plug (5 pin) was secured to the old console, so I swapped it out. The console with the readout has a female pin block with 8 receptors (5 above & 3 below). After hookup, the compass works as it should but the temperature displays dashes and f or c when you depress the button. I do have a factory sensor that is hooked up behind the grill in front of the radiator / condenser. Does anyone have a remedy for this?
    Thanks, Mark

A follow-up to my "Overhead console issue". As I stated I have a 2009 Tacoma with a 5 pin connector and am trying to install a 2011 console display that has an 8 pin female display connector. I did a continuity test on the 2 wires from the ambient sensor in front of the radiator to the 5 pin plug, and there is nothing, so I assume that sensor is for something else. Question: how can I install another ambient sensor to make the temperature operable?
    Thanks,
    Clockmaker Mark
