oxidation on headlights

my dads 2005 toyota sequoia has oxidation but i used the plastic x to clean it but it keeps coming back. same thing goes with my gfs 2011 Infiniti g25 has the same problem. any advice?

 

Get a headlight retoring kit and use that.

 

I've heard tooth paste works.

I usually use 3000 grit wet sanding paper and then polish it back up with a machine and it makes the head lights look brand new.

 

I use my buffer with a 4in pad and some paint polish. This fix will last quite a while.

The proper way is to wet sand as stated above. Wet sanding will last a long time.

 

Curious to know what kind of buffer you use..I have a Porter Cable DA. What pad color and polish? Or can I use the DA with one of the headlight kits like the RainX one

Usually a 4in orange pad with Menzerna Super Intensive Polish. When using a PC use it on setting 4.
