    Hello everyone,

I searched the forum for the P2000 error code and nothing relevant comes back. Have any of you had/dealt with this code? I cleared the code and waited the 100 or so miles and sure enough it came back. I checked the service manual and see nothing listed for P2000. I know it has to do with NOx levels but not sure what that translates to on the truck.....maybe EGR, injectors..etc

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    John

Just saw your thread and that no one chimed in, so here's my best guess based on what I've read. Seems like the P2000 code is a pretty uncommon one to see in Tacomas.

A google search showed that it's an issue with Dodge trucks frequently, basically it's an emissions related issue. From what I gather, a lot of guys seem to have some luck solving the issue by cleaning and or replacing their MAF or o2 sensors. Seems like that would be a good place to start, cleaning your MAF sensor is super easy to do yourself. Afterwards, disconnect your battery for a few minutes to reset the code and drive around for a few days (takes the ECU several driving hours before it can pick up the code again after battery disconnect), and see if that helps?

Thanks eon. I found the same info, mostly relating to dodge deisels.

For anyone interested I took out the upstream O2 sensor and it did not pass the torch test. Additionally, I found an exhaust leak at the flange directly upstream of the CC. I bought a new denso sensor ($90 at Napa) and a new exhaust gasket. I cleared the code and have run about 200 miles without the code returning. We'll see if it returns again, I'll update the post if it does.
