Hey guys, i have a ‘12 Prerunner SR5 V6 (not that it matters) but the passenger side front blinker doesnt work. Checked all the fuses (10a headlight under hood, 15a turn/hazard under hood, and 7.5 under dash) and none of them are blown. Only did a visual check so no multimeter here.

Some more info— rear passenger side blinker hyperflashes when turning blinker on, drivers side is fine front and back, and when i turn the hazards on, everything works fine minus the front passenger side blinker which doesnt work at all. When i turn my headlight knob to the first notch, both passenger and driver side front ambers turn on so i dont think the bulb is the problem. Havent done anything to my vehicle that would affect the blinkers, only meso customs dome/map lights, pedal commander (which has been off for a while), and s&b cold air intake. I know it doesnt give any performance gains but i like the way it sounds. Oh also horn still works.

I did some digging on the forum(yes i do know how to use the search bar) and i heard that it can potentially be the flasher or the relay?? Another potential cause may be the wiring. Again i did a visual check of the wires and nothing is crimped or corroded. I know how to work with fuses and bulbs but flashers/relays and wiring is still new to me. Any thoughts on what it could be/how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

It’s 4157a bulb. Did you replace it? It’s a dual filament bulb.

I'd check the bulb first, odds are that's all it is. They have 2 elements a lower wattage one for the running lights and a higher wattage one for the turn signals. The wiring is different depending on if you have the tow package or not so if it's not the bulb let me know what you have and I can get you the appropriate diagram.

@gotoman1969 @Dm93 No i havent replaced the bulbs yet. Unfortunately i can not change the bulb tonight but i will keep you guys updated. I appreciate the quick reply guys !!

Correct me if im wrong but the process should be the same regardless of tow package right? Fwiw i dont know if i have the tow package but i do have the 7 way connector if that helps.

Bulb replacement is the same just the wiring is different.

See if you have an oil cooler under where the oil filter mounts (it will have 2 coolant hoses connected to it), only models with the tow package have it.

Dont take this the wrong way but why would it matter if the wiring is different?
    Serious question here… lol

Having the tow package or not has nothing to do with your problem. I'm betting that you just have one filament bad in the bulb.

OP - dunno where your washer fluid vessel is located in your truck - but..... on my 014 the RH blinker wiring led directly below and behind it. Could not be seen until I took the fluid out, pulled the electrical connection and took it clear out of the way. And there was a spot where a mouse or rat had eaten the blinker wiring (only?). Might have seen it with a light and a mechanix mirror - but neither was handy at the moment.

Adjacent to this wound there was a whole knot of hidden wiring - if the munching had happened there, I would have been in for a lot more repair!

Main difference is the flasher, with the tow package front and rear lights have separate outputs on the flasher, without the tow package front and rear lights are on the same output on the flasher. Wire colors are the same they are just routed slightly different.

So simple.. way to make me feel dumb LOL definitely have to try this when i get home!

If i remember correctly my washer fluid is on the left hand (passenger) side, kinda near where the cai is located. Had to do some relocating when i installed it, mainly the secondary air filter (i think its called) among other things. After installation i noticed that some wires got trapped between the cai and the fairing/fender, as well as behind the washer fluid reservoir. Hate to think that would be the problem as i would have to remove the cai to access those wires…

Thanks for all the help. Hopefully its not the flasher as i am 100% lost when it comes to that (and only 85% lost when it comes to everything else LOL). Later when i get home ill try switching the driver side and passenger side bulbs and see if that helps. If not ill check out the wiring/flasher and see what i can do!
