Please check my math

Hey everyone. I've been trying to research this for a few weeks now but I keep getting conflicting results, so I'm hoping to actually have a conversation here to help me out.

I currently have stock TRDOR wheels and 1.25" spacers with 285/75 AT3s. The best information I could find rates the stock TRDOR wheels at +25mm and the spacers are 31.75mm, so I effectively have a -6.75 offset. I currently have 0 rub anywhere during any kind of driving i've done so far.

I have been looking at the Pro Comp 69 that are 16x8 -12. Looking at willtheyfit.com, it looks like there's almost no change in tire location, but I still have had people tell me that I will rub with -12 and I should go with 0 offset. I guess in my head I don't understand how -12 would rub but 0 wouldn't? Please anyone correct me if I am wrong on any of this. I am just trying to get off these spacers before my DFW --> Durango CO trip coming up soon. Thanks.

 

I had some Pro Comp 16 x 8 with 0 offset (4.5" backspacing) with 285/75/16 tires and there was no rub (my truck has the flares trimmed and pinchweld beat down). My truck has SPC UCA's and I have them at position C which pushes the tire forward more. I went to Ray 10's 17 x 8.5 with -10 offset and 305/65 tires and I get some rub on the chassis mount. With the -12 offset, it pushes the tire out more and you may have a chance of rubbing on the chassis mount. With a 16 x 8 wheel -12 offset and 285 tires, I think you would be ok. If they are 8.5" wide wheels you may end up with rubbing. My truck had spacers on the front with the 16 x 8 0 offset wheels and it would rub the chassis mount, so I removed the spacers and it was fine.

Is that grille surround brushed stainless or nickel? I have a chrome one and want to go to something similar to that color.

 

No, it's just painted silver I think. It's the factory surround on the base models I guess.
