pop & lock install problems!

is this the right unit for the 2nd gen trucks?

it has the PL8520 sticker on it, came in the PL8520 box and with the right directions, but the mounting plate does not look right.

can you guys confirm what i think the problem is, is this the wrong f-n part????

That appears to be the model PL 8521. Your photos seem to match the diagram in the PL8521 installation manual:

... Says this model is for 2005 - 2008 Tacomas *WITH* a backup camera. However, the install manual says it's for both types (with or without camera).

 

It's the correct item. The instructions included with the Pop N Lock are wrong. For better instructions, see:

its the correct item, i know it, the mounting plate is not wrong, this is a power pop&lock 8520, one bolt hole needed for installation, you can email me and i can walk you through the install

 

that's a relief. thanks for the TN link for the directions, that'll help. I had alot on my plate today so didn't try to hard to get this thing to work after thinking i had the wrong one.
